Spicy Shrimp/Chorizo ​​soup

This is a very filling meal soup. You can also add some rice to the soup, but it is certainly not necessary. It is also delicious simply with bread.

Dish for 5 people.

Ingredients:

Chorizo

onion

4 cloves of garlic

1 jalapeno

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

2 stalks of celery

3 peppers

1 can of diced tomatoes

750 ml chicken stock

2 bay leaves

2 tsp (freeze) dried thyme

300 g large shrimps

Preparation:

Peel the onion and garlic and cut the jalapēno into small pieces. Grind this together with the tomato puree in a food processor into a paste, or grind it in a mortar. If necessary, add a small dash of water.

Heat a stockpot on the stove, add a little oil and fry the pasta for a few minutes. In the meantime, cut the chorizo ​​into pieces and fry it. At the same time as the chorizo, add the paprika, cayenne pepper, onion and garlic powder.

Cut the celery and pepper into cubes and add them. Let them fry for a minute, they don’t have to become soft.

Add the tomato cubes, the stock, the bay leaves and the thyme and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes.

Now you can possibly cook the rice if you want to serve it with it.

After 15 minutes add the shrimp. The shrimp will cook in just a few minutes, so pay attention.

Serve with some celery leaves (which are sometimes included with the celery sticks).

First spoon the rice into the bowl and then pour the soup over it. Or simply serve as soup with bread.
