Chicory with cheese and walnuts

A simple and easy, yet tasty side dish. Together with baked potatoes, a complete vegetarian meal. But also delicious as a side dish with a more extensive meal (Christmas, Easter).

Dish for 3 people.

Ingredients:

4 heads of chicory

knob of butter

75 ml cooking cream

75 g grated old cheese

walnuts

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 180° C (fan).

Cut the chicory into strips and remove the hard, bitter pieces.

Heat a pan and melt the butter in it. Fry the chicory until brown.

Place the chicory in a greased baking dish. Pour the cooking cream over it. Divide the cheese and walnuts over it.

Place in the oven and leave there for 10 minutes until the cheese is nicely melted. You can now sprinkle pepper over it, but that is not necessary.

Enjoy your meal.
