Korean spicy pork in a bowl

This dish is for 4 people

A very spicy dish. So be warned. Not everyone here at home is equally enthusiastic about this dish.

If it is really too hot, you can always stir in some lime juice. Lime cools the heat.

Ingredients:

Meat:

500gr pork tenderloin (with á la minute pork steaks it is also delicious and a lot cheaper)

Marinade:

1/2 cup gochujang (a Korean pepper paste available at the grocery store)

5 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp grated ginger

1 onion

1 pear

1 apple

1/2 cup soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp sugar

4 stalks of spring onion

1/2 tsp ground pepper

Sriracha mayonnaise:

1-2 tbsp sriracha sauce (depends on the spice you want)

1 cup mayonnaise

Lime

Pinch of salt

Other:

(Rice) noodles

Rice

Teriyaki Sauce

White sesame seeds

Spring onion

Preparation:

Place the onion, apple and pear in a food processor and grind very finely. You can also grate it, but this is faster.

Cut the spring onion into thin strips.

Place these and all other ingredients for the marinade in a bowl and stir well. Set aside for a moment.

Cut the pork tenderloin (or á la minute slices) into narrow strips and add this to the marinade. Stir this well. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Let this marinate for at least 6 hours, but preferably all night.

Make the sriracha sauce by thoroughly mixing the mayonnaise, sriracha, the juice of half a lime and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

Cook the rice and noodles as directed on the package. Cut the spring onion.

Fry the meat with the marinade in a hot pan over medium heat until the meat is soft and done. This goes quite quickly.

Place the rice and noodles in a bowl. Place the meat on top of this. Pipe the sriracha and teriyaki sauce over this. Top with the white sesame seeds and spring onion.

Enjoy your meal.
