This chicken is delicious with rice and sajoer beans or with Atjar Tjampoer. These dishes are included with the side dishes.
Dish for 4 people.
Ingredients:
600 g chicken thigh fillet
Salt and pepper
Olive oil for frying
3 stalks of spring onion
Sesame seeds
Ingredients for the sauce:
200 ml of water
1 (chicken) stock cube, crumbled
1 tsp smoked paprika powder
1 tsp sesame oil
3 tbs honey
2 cloves of garlic
1 Tbs mustard (I use French mustard)
1 tbsp soy sauce
Preparation:
Cut the chicken thighs into cubes and rub them with salt and pepper.
Place all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and stir together as best as possible to create a sauce.
Fry the chicken thighs in a pan (preferably a pan that can go under the grill) in the olive oil. This certainly doesn’t have to be done yet.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and let it cook over high heat until the sauce is almost gone, but still clings to the chicken. Check whether your chicken is really done.
Now place the pan under a hot grill so that the honey caramelizes. This is not necessary, I often omit this when I am in a hurry.
In the meantime, cut the spring onion into small rings.
Sprinkle the spring onion and sesame seeds over the chicken just before serving.
Enjoy your meal.
